Customer Review: This sucks

I ordered this product at the beginning of December and I never recieved it. Thanks alot for taking my money and not sending me the product

Customer Review: Classic pen knife .. But the USB drive.

The twist is the USB drive. It works great but the plastic sleeve on the drive is not worthy if being in this knife. It is flimsy and will break. Mine did after only a handful of removals from the knife. It still works after some super glue and I just use it separately as a thumb drive. I now have a nice pen knife with a big hole in it. If your are not going to ever remove it from the knife it is fine. An aluminum or steel sleeve with a steel hook instead of plastic would make all the difference. Plastic=Cheap/Flimsy, Not what this brand is known for. Just buy them separate.

Customer Review: Bad display, bad graphics, very disappointed

I don't know if any device maker can still find such a lousy LCD screen to put into their design; the LCD screen of this product reminds me a 1980 PC with really bad graphics display, and they still manage to charge people with a premium price. Nowadays, a $500 PC with more expensive components has a screen much bigger and better. This small device made by Garmin is a rip-off, just from the LCD point of view.

Customer Review: Trail Tracking is best feature.

Leaves a breadcrumb trail showing you where you've been. Great for exploring and getting back safely.

Displaying the Swiss Army Knife's famed Swiss-flag logo of white cross against a red background, the rugged silver Alox housing also holds a knife blade, a combination nail file and screw driver, a scissors, a retractable ballpoint pen, a LED mini light, and a key ring. About Victorinox
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The forerunner of that name dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor or versatility.

Gerber 04171 Suspension Butterfly Opening Multi-Plier, with Sheath

Gerber 04171 Suspension Butterfly Opening Multi-Plier, with Sheath

Gerber 04171 Suspension Butterfly Opening Multi-Plier, with Sheath

About the Suspension Multi-Plier Multitool
This engineering masterpiece was inspired by the bridges of Portland, Oregon, with all the down-and-dirty performance characteristics users expect and require. This is a classic workhorse with spring-loaded pliers, the patented Saf.T.Plus component locking system, a ballistic nylon sheath, and the very same structural integrity that goes into every Gerber tool. More than just a sleek-looking son-of-gun, this tool has an open-frame configuration that's a real break though where the industry is concerned. But just because it's got pretty lines, there's no reason you can't use it in some ugly situations.

Multitool Capabilities:

  • Needlenose pliers
  • Wire cutter
  • Fine edge knife
  • Serrated edge knife
  • Saw
  • Scissors
  • Crosspoint screwdriver
  • Small and medium flat blade screwdrivers
  • Can opener
  • Bottle opener
  • Lanyard hole

Key Technical Specs:

  • Length open: 6 inches
  • Length closed: 3.5 inches
  • Handle material: stainless steel
  • Sheath material: ballistic nylon

Warranty:
Gerber Legendary Blades guarantees this product with a limited lifetime warranty.

What's in the box:
Gerber Suspension Multi-Plier and nylon sheath.

Gerber's History of Ingenuity
Savvy. Moxie. Craftsmanship. Attention to detail. These are just a few of the company traits that contributed to Gerber's emergence as a world leader in outdoor gear. Joseph Gerber started Portland, Oregon's Gerber Advertising back in 1910, and one Christmas, he hired a local knife-maker to craft 25 sets of kitchen cutlery as client gifts. The knives were so popular, Mr. Gerber ultimately left his agency to launch Gerber Legendary Blades in 1939.

It makes sense, really. An idea man gets the idea of a lifetime and turns it into a major outdoor brand -- one that commands respect among knife-lovers and knife-makers alike. And now that same high regard is spreading in new directions, in the form of many outstanding products such as tools, personal L.E.D. lighting, and backpack hydration.

Customer Review: Broken within two weeks.

I was using the pliers to hold some wire while doing some fencing and one half of the plier's jaw broke completely off right at the hinge. Absolutely no excuse for this as I used to do the same task with my old Leatherman without any problem.

Also, it is very hard to get the various tools opened.

Customer Review: Weak, won't stand up to heavy use. Don't buy.

This tool broke under use when I tried to use it as part of a home project. I was using the pliers to straighten out a bent piece of metal, something that I've done tons of times with regular pliers. I figured that I could use the Gerber tool the same way.

I was wrong. When I encountered a particular stubborn piece of metal, and it wouldn't give, I had to crank extra hard. Instead of the piece I was working on bending, the Gerber tool broke! One of the small metal retaining pieces that prevents the plier handles from collapsing bent under the pressure of my hand.

Folks, I'm not that strong. I wasn't applying some superhuman amount of strength to the tool. Nevertheless, it still broke under the strain of me gripping it extra hard. I don't recommend anybody getting this tool if you're going to use it for serious work, or going to depend on it for an emergency.

Flash drive works well and is recognized without loading any drivers in Windows XP. Knife, nailfile/screwdriver,scissors are a plus to have. Small and very portable. Only complaint would be I think the price is a little steep.

Heatmax Hot Hands 2 Handwarmer (40 pairs)

Heatmax Hot Hands 2 Handwarmer (40 pairs)

Designed for skiers, hunters, fishermen, golfers, or anyone who works or plays in the cold for long hours, the Heatmax HotHands-2 Hand Warmers are air-activated and will provide up to 10 hours of soothing warmth inside gloves, pockets or wherever you feel a chill. All Heatmax warmers are made of natural materials, including iron powder, water, salt, activated charcoal, and wood fiber. When exposed to air, these materials react together to produce heat through an extremely fast oxidation (or rusting) process. Users should allow 10 to 20 minutes for the warmers to reach their optimal temperatures.

Customer Review: These are great

These stay hot for a REALLY long time. We have a 2 year old that needs to have a warm compress on her eye several times a day. One of these (in a sock) makes doing that SO much easier, plus I don't have to open a new one each time. I can use just one a day since they stay hot for so long. We used Little Hotties before and Heatmax stays hot MUCH longer. I had to use at least 2 Little Hotties a day because they didn't even stay hot for the 8 hours that it says on the box. If we need more after this box is finished, I will buy the Heatmax for sure!!

Customer Review: Instant relief

I ordered the Hot Hands for a friend who had eye surgery and needed to keep heat on her eye for extended periods. A hot washcloth involved continuous trips to the microwave. The Hot Hands are small and easily taped over the eye, providing 12 hours of warmth. Wrapped in Seran wrap and lined with wet paper towel, they also provided moist heat. A true blessing.

Victorinox Swiss Army One-Hand Trekker Lockblade Pocket Knife (Black)

From the renowned company that created the Swiss Army knife a century ago comes this 12-item set of stainless-steel tools--all neatly contained inside a single implement that measures just 4-3/8 inches long (111mm). Sheathed in a black cover, the One Hand Trekker Lockblade is one of only three Swiss Army multi-tools with a one-handed serrated locking blade. A valued companion, this pocket knife carries a lifetime warranty against defects. The tools include a serrated locking blade, a bottle opener with a large locking screwdriver and wire stripper, a can opener with a small screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, key ring, toothpick, tweezers, reamer, and wood saw.

Customer Review: two-hand close

I like the design and look of the knife, but the lock is on the left of the blade, so when it's extended and locked you can't close it naturally (unless you're left-handed, which I am not). If the locking mechanism had been switched to the other side it would have been a Five-Star knife.

Customer Review: Bigger than the typical Swiss Army Knife

Sharp blade and saw. Parts work well though the hinges are a little stiff out of the box and the large blade locks with a click and retracts by pushing a lever on the handle. My main complain about this knife is that it's large, too large to be called a pocket knife at 4-3/8" without the tools extended. It does come with a nice webbed nylon sheath which allows you to wear it on a belt. For daily carrying-around knife it's not an ideal solution.

Nikon Monarch ATB 8x42 Waterproof Binocular

Nikon Monarch ATB 8x42 Waterproof Binocular

Nikon Monarch ATB 8x42 Waterproof Binocular

Nikon is a precision optical company with worldwide manufacturing, research and marketing capabilities. The Nikon name is equated with extraordinary photographic performance, innovation, precision and optical quality.PRODUCT FEATURES:100% Waterproof/Fogproof/Shockproof;Ultra-rugged, rubber-armored, roof-prism design;Extended eye relief and central focus for viewing convenience;Fully Multicoated lenses for bright, clear images;Precision aligned optics for extended viewing.

Customer Review: Fantastic value! Excellent Binoculars!

I purchased the Monarch's to replace an aging pair (30 years old). The first thing that came to mind when I first used them was...WOW! The clarity is outstanding...especially for the price.

Many prior reviewers complained about the lens caps. I personally find them very functional and not at all what was portrayed. Perhaps I have an upgraded model, but the objective lens caps are attached to the barrel and one needs to simply unsnap the covers and twist them towards the middle of the binoculars where they sit nicely until you wish to put the covers back on. The the one-piece eyepiece cover (that everyone seems to complain about) has a serpentine plastic piece between each lens cover that applies a small amount of pressure to keep the lens covered when the binoculars are at rest on your chest and easily removes for viewing. If the user wishes, he can unhook the right-hand side of the cover and let the piece hang on the left-hand strap (otherwise it will be hanging in front of your nose!).

As other reviewers have noted, I now see things that I would have missed before. These binoculars are fantastic. Jupiter has been visible all summer (the brightest "star" in the night sky excepting the Moon) and I can actually see a few of Jupiter's moons. I needed to steady the binoculars on a door frame, but what a sight!

For birding and other casual use the 8x42 are perfect. I personally don't think I would have been happy with the 10x42's as they would have produced a little too much jitter while viewing (I'm not as steady as I used to be).

And for those of you who criticize that the glasses are made in China, just peel the label off. There, now they're made in Japan.

I highly recommend these binoculars. I am EXTREMELY pleased with these Nikon's. If you have the chance to purchase these, DO IT -- You won't be sorry.

Customer Review: fantastic bins, highly recommended

Lightweight. Lens caps are attached. Great for bird watching. Good in dim conditions. Fantastic value for money.

Customer Review: navigator

This unit is everything you expect from a Garmin GPS. This is my fourth product from this manufacturer and all were excellent experiences.I love the top side controls. Superb costumer support.
To use this unit at night for instance is a thrill, to say the least.
The regular down loadable Topo maps are all but useless. If you need Topo, than the 24K series is the way to go.However only two or three of such is available and they are prohibitively expensive and slow to appear. A 3D viewing function would be nice to have, but presently its not in the cards. This lack of feature does not in anyway short change this unit. Some claiming the unit is not pocket friendly, but I find these statement very general and lack of useful definition.

Customer Review: The best money can buy!

I purchased this a little over a year ago and yet I am still learning on a daily basis something new this bugger can do! My only gripe is that I can't seem to figure out how to turn off the "extrapolate data points when satellite lost" function. This would require a small software fix, but probably not even worth Garmin's time. Just have to remember to turn it off when I go inside. When outdoors though, this thing is the best!
